We’re stoked to announce that the finish line for the Traverse City Triathlon will be back at Bowers Harbor Park in 2016. Peninsula Township has approved our request, and we’ll be back in familiar territory. Finishing the race at Bowers Harbor Park is a more racer-friendly, spectator-friendly, and family-friendly change.

Last year, by request of Peninsula Township, we moved the finish line to the newly-acquired township property off of Devil’s Dive Rd.  There was little shade there, no water source, no playground, and it was a far walk from the transition area.  We didn’t like the way things went, and we know that a lot of you didn’t either.

Parking for this year’s event will still be at the property off of Devil’s Dive Rd., but all races will finish near what is known as Pavilion #1 (where the race had finished the previous few years), just off of Bowers Harbor Rd. in the park.

Hopefully you’ll be able to join us on August 21 for this year’s race, whether as a volunteer, racer, or fan.
